CHESTNUT HOUSE BIO

When our clients purchased a newly built developer property, they were left with a shell that lacked warmth, finish and personality. Project One was brought in to reimagine the space – to elevate a white box into a richly layered, fully bespoke home that reflects the lifestyle and tastes of its owners across living spaces, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms.
We retained the original ground floor flooring, but the rest of the home was stripped back and rebuilt with carefully curated finishes inspired by mood boards created during the design process. Surface materials, colours and textures were layered to bring depth, balance and identity to every room – transforming the house into an elevated and refined space for living.

Lifestyle Kitchen

Working with the existing kitchen structure and flooring materials, we replaced the cabinet doors with our signature Italian board finish – adding depth and luxury through craftsmanship and materials. The result is a kitchen that feels tailored and design-forward, without requiring a complete rebuild.

The Master Bedroom Suite

The master suite was reconfigured to include a custom-built mezzanine, creating a cosy, elevated storage and wardrobe area that enhances the sense of space while adding a boutique hotel feel to the bedroom.

The Living Room

Inspired by the Skyfall project, the living room ceiling takes cues from alpine architecture, bringing in a chalet-like atmosphere anchored by a central log burner and formal seating area. Air conditioning, concealed speakers and a signature Missoni washroom complete the experience – wrapped in Project One’s signature balance of comfort, design and precision.

When our clients found themselves with a developer’s standard finish that didn’t match their vision, we transformed every surface and detail to create a home with real character. What you’ll see in these before and after images is a complete metamorphosis – from sterile white walls to rich, layered interiors that truly reflect our clients’ lifestyle and taste.

We have recently completed a full house renovation with Project One, and all aspects of their service has been excellent. Given the amount of work needed, we didn’t really know where to begin, but Dorian and Babette guided us through from start to finish, and we now have a home we are so proud of. The project took around 6 months and involved a lot of different trades. But the wider team were all excellent – reliable, professional, friendly and with great attention to detail. And all work is overseen and managed very closely. We work from home, so a project of this size is always going to be disruption, but Project One did their very best to minimise the disruption.

We really enjoyed working with Dorian, Babette and the team. After some bad experiences with builders and trades, we were nervous going into our renovation, but they have restored our faith that you can get things done right and in a transparent and fair way. Thank you Project One.
