We received an SOS from our client after this project had been left in a very bad state by a rogue builder. So we stepped in to completely redesign the building and start over, while legalising the structural, building and compliance failures.
As Frank and Laoise had been through the mill and deserved the very best – and we delivered spaces that truly enhance their lifestyle and smash the conservative Victorian restoration ethic so common in these ‘ships master’ mansions.
In addition to the kitchen and master bedroom suite, we designed and installed 7 bathrooms, a games room, 8 bedrooms and external spaces with all utilities.

The Kitchen

The design for the Kitchen area and connecting spaces centred around the clients’ lifestyle and love of cooking and entertaining. The bar area inhabits a halfway place for kitchen-to-dining spaces with an entertaining room with restored grand Victorian details acting as a snug and overflow areas perfect for parties. This fabulous entertaining space was completed with 72 concealed speakers and 72 lighting zones.

We utilised our sprayed MDF concealed storage areas to reduce the amount of kitchen cabinets and keep this in our gallery style kitchen design format. The island has our centre stage “jewel” design with a brass wrap and marble top.
We mixed and matched the appliances based on budget and favoured brands, such as Gaggeneau for cooking, in-line with the clients wish list.
Quinn, the terracotta warrior was one of only four exported from China, and obviously has a special place in the hearts of these homeowners so we made him the star of the show.

The Master Bedroom Suite

The master bedroom suite centres around a beautiful original marble fireplace and all the modern conveniences are integrated through Control4 home automation, as with the rest of the property. The joinery is made to measure for this space and also in the adjoining wet room and dressing areas. The plaster details strike a modern note but are in keeping with the general moulding aesthetic in the existing spaces.

Project One. What a fab company with fabulously skilled people. We were in dire straits after another construction company left us in a bad bad way. Project One saved our lives quite literally. We had 4 leaking bathrooms and a kitchen that was unusable. All sorted with Project One within a year. We now have a staggeringly beautiful home with a level of detailing and design that is off the scale. A bonus was my reconfigured bedroom which would win any design award. Simply beautiful. We are now about 6 years on and our whole house is as fresh and unique as it was when they complete it. They are amazing – you couldn’t get better!!!!
