Sue and Keith had lived in this house for 39 years, the kitchen was an awkward cheese wedge configuration and had ceased to work with their expanding family. We were initially briefed for a kitchen, but ended up extending to the entire house after really hitting it off in design terms.

THE LIFESTYLE SPACE
Our favourite part of this project was breaking down the physical and mental barriers between smaller individual rooms, to create an open, bright and functional family home.
Guiding clients to the best possible version of their house is always our main aim and greatest joy.
We wanted to keep the charm of the existing features of this Victorian home, so where we changed the configuration of room, we reinstated coving and integrated all the spaces by connecting the surface layers to preserve the heritage of the house.
The formal living space and bedrooms were updated to meet the needs of a modern family needs while remaining sympathetic to the Victorian feel of the home. Restoring the externals took us back to our restoration roots – our happy place.
